There's something so easy on the eye about looking through DJ Solange Knowles' hot-off-the-press wedding photos. In addition to the beautifully weathered backdrop of New Orleans' French Quarter, the fact that all the guests wore the same colour made for an enjoyable tableau.

But not in a weird, lets-all-wear-the-same-hue-of-ghastly-royal-blue way, but in a composed and discreet fashion thanks to the off-white theme.


Despite the uniformity - carried right through by the bride and groom - 28-year-old Solange (who also happens to be singing megastar Beyoncé's little sister) stood out from the crowd with an arsenal of architectural jumpsuits for the celebrations and a less-is-more, caped gown for the ceremony on November 16.


Knowles and her music video director partner Alan Ferguson indulged in several outfit changes in the run-up to their nuptials, meaning numerous photo opps. For the rehearsal dinner the night before the big day, mother-of-one Knowles selected an asymmetric jumpsuit by French couturier Stephane Rolland to turn heads at the age-old ritual. The creation featured a billowing layer of organza draped across the body and was long on one leg and short on the other.

Rolland was picked again for a pre-ceremony, caped jumpsuit in ivory in which the blushing bride cycled to the Marigny Opera House for the ceremony in along with her 51-year-old groom - on matching bicycles, of course.

Solange then changed into a beautiful, floor-length gown featuring a cape to exchange vows with Ferguson (below). The dress was designed by Humberto Leon for Kenzo, one half of the creative duo behind concept store Opening Ceremony.

The opera house provided a picturesque backdrop for photographer Roy Walker to direct a set of all-female compositions, featuring big sister Beyoncé (main photo), mother Tina and singer Janelle Monae.

The newlyweds and their guests then partied in the street, to the sounds of the Second Line band, for which the bride wore - yep you've probably already guessed it - an off-white jumpsuit.

The marriage is not Solange's first, when she was 17 she married Daniel Smith, the father of her 10-year-old son, Daniel Julez J. Smith, Jr. We doubt she had this many brilliant jumpsuits back then.
